From 14 to 19 February 2020, the IKA/Culinary Olympics took place parallel to INTERGASTRA for the first time under a single roof. In the Olympic year 2020, international teams of chefs competed over four days for culinary superiority at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre under the motto #takingpartiseverything.

From 15 to 18 February 2020, INTERGASTRA visitors had the opportunity to watch more than 2,000 chefs from over 70 countries live as they cook, to cheer them on as they prepare around 8,000 international menus, and then to enjoy the top-quality dishes from around the world.

RAK Porcelain as one of the exclusive trusted partner of the events supported the initiative by being the official tableware sponsors of the event and provided the winning teams with medals and memorablia as testimony of support and encouragement to facilitate Chefs and their creative talents.

Not less than 10,000 porcelain pieces were made available for all the competitions of the international professional cooks for this Culinary Olympics. In the restaurant of The Nations, the 3-course menus were plated on the latest series “Hide”, a series that won the celebrated Red Dot Design Award in 2019.

Each individual participant, all passionate about their work, showed enormous talent and potential during the Culinary Olympics. In the Nation Culinary Teams category, team Norway finally won the competition and took home the Olympic gold medal. Team Norway convinced the jury of its skills due to its precision and artistic craftmanship. Closely followed in second place by Sweden, who achieved the silver medal for their outstanding performance; the bronze medal went to Iceland.
